Un cinéma sonore sur le vif. Une performance basée sur le mixage de stream en temps réel.
Le projet Mobile Tracks est une diffusion sonore spatialisée à partir de captations faites par quatre microphones mobiles, reliés en direct par des streams (4G). Les parcours empruntés par les « streamers » dans les rues d’ Aix-en-Provence et Marseille deviennent les lignes d’une partition polyphonique ou « multi-pistes » — un jeu s’établit entre les éloignements, les rapprochements et les croisements de ces parcours. Les streamers « interprètent » leur chemin, incluent des gestes synchronisés à partir des instructions chronométrées et écrites sur une partition. Le tout crée dans l’auditorium un nouvel espace sonore qui confronte la tension entre le réel et la fiction.
Le projet Mobile Tracks a été réalisé lors d’une résidence d’artiste-chercheur au sein du laboratoire Locus Sonus à l’École d’Art d’Aix-en-Provence en 2014 et 2015.
[en]A live sound cinema. A performance based on real-time mixing of mobile audio streams.
Mobile Tracks is a performance or concert piece using the process of audio streaming. The project requires four performers equipped with microphones and smartphones, who capture the sound environments through which they are moving. The captured audio is simultaneously sent via an Internet connection to be mixed live, inside the concert space. Through this process, the routes followed by the « steamers » on the streets of Aix-en-Provence and Marseilles become the lines of a polyphonic or « multi-track » score. The streamers « interpret » their path through synchronized gestures based on written instructions. Sound capture becomes performance, re-mixing takes the shape of a sound geofiction and reality is script-written, creating a new sound space in the auditorium and exploring the tension between reality and fiction.
The project Mobile Tracks was created during an artist-researcher residency at Locus Sonus at the Art School of Aix-en-Provence in 2014 and 2015.
